IHet Nieuwe Instituut and Tilting Axis launch the second iteration of a fellowship programme for mid-career or established applicants based in the Caribbean. The initiative aims to foster and stimulate mutual exchange between the Caribbean region and the Dutch cultural field. The fellowship is for one mid-career and established researcher, artist, designer, writer, curator, or cultural producer based in the Caribbean region interested in building new links with cultural institutions in the Netherlands, and who has an interest in developing their practice around themes related to architecture, spatial practice, design or digital culture.

The World Cinema Fund Production Grants

(RE)VERB is an audio augmented reality ‘zine dedicated to spatially conceived creative literary projects looking for contributions from an interdisciplinary creative community within the fields of electronic literature, experimental poetry, conceptual writing, art and technology, sound art and Audio AR to consider the sensorial, psychological, infrastructural and material experience of place for aesthetic experimentation.

SFFILM New American Fellowship

Through the SFFILM New American Fellowship, created in partnership with the Flora Family Foundation, SFFILM offers six-month fellowships to narrative or documentary filmmakers who have arrived in the United States within the past ten years as either an immigrant or a non-immigrant. The Sundance Preservation Fund

The fund provides grants to support preservation and restoration efforts of Sundance-supported projects and empower independent storytellers with resources to develop a sustainable long-term preservation strategy. The Art of Staying Healthy aims to develop collaboration between the arts and health sectors and to pilot arts interventions on the health and well-being of people and communities in the Northern Dimension (ND) area, which covers Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia and Sweden.

Sound Connects Fund for Organisations in Southern Africa
Deadline: 25 July 2021

The Sound Connects Fund (SCF) is a multifaceted initiative that aims to accelerate development and increase the capacity of the cultural and creative sectors in Southern Africa by offering financial support in the form of grants and robust capacity-building programmes to eligible creative and cultural industry organisations based in Angola, Botswana, eSwatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Proposals for grants will therefore be challenged to look at sound not only in relation to music but also in related sectors such as sound in videogames and animation films, sound in audio-visual arts, sound as a supporting aspect of the fashion industry (e.g. fashion shows) and sound in the digital creative sector.

GENERATIVE PROJECT’ RESIDENCY

Xi·Art Museum is located in Lucitopia Town, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, China. A wall-less open-air art museum, it is planned along a 7km stream in the valleys of Zixi Qingliang Mountain. With a tranquil and pleasant environment, it resembles another time and another world. Lying at the foot of the Wuyi Mountains on their northern side, it is about two hours’ drive from the urban centre of Fuzhou.
The Xi·Art Museum is currently in its infancy. Among its initial activities are the Generative Project, which focuses on open, growing, and participatory art practices and field research processes. Through long-term exchanges and cooperation with domestic and international artists, the Generative Project roots artistic creations in specific natural fields and contexts, in which the creative works will be permanently preserved and displayed.
Applications are now sought from artists for the 2020-21 Generative Project, which takes the theme ‘Fantasy Land’.

PIC Media Fund Production Grant
Deadline: August 6, 2021/Up to $50.000

Media Fund provides up to $50,000 in Production funding for single programs of standard broadcast length (56:46 or 26:46). In rare cases, when the story warrants it, PIC will consider feature-length programs in accordance with PBS broadcast specifications. Producers applying for Production funds will need to enter into an exclusive four-year public television broadcast rights license for the U.S. and its territories.

Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) /CHF 10,000

A pioneer in the field of digital arts and innovation, GIFF has presented a program of immersive works since 2014, which has become competitive since 2016. This section showcases immersive works from around the world presented as Swiss, international or world premieres.
Creators, producers and distributors are invited to submit their digital and immersive works (in virtual, augmented and mixed reality) for GIFF’s 2021 festival. The works submitted will be considered by the Festival’s curators who will select those that will feature in the 2021 program (Nov. 5-14, 2021).

NEW TECHNOLOGICAL ART AWARD

During the last few years, Zebrastraat Ghent has developed into a stimulating knowledge centre with a strong interest in art. Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF)
Deadline: August 31, 2021

The European Script Award is open to all television stations, broadcasters and production companies based in Europe. Eligible are TV series produced and written by emerging scriptwriters (first, second or third script).
The best screenwriter of the year will receive a prize worth EUR 10,000 offered by the European Alliance for Television and Culture (EATC) during GIFF’s award ceremony which will take place on November 13, 2021.
To apply and submit a series, follow these guidelines:

  1. Create an account or login on MyGIFF online platform: https://vp.eventival.com/giff/2021 Complete or update your data
  2. Enter the Registration Forms, choose European Script Award, fill in the form and then submit

Project Anywhere Call For Proposals 2021–2022

Project Anywhere’s evaluation criteria stress that all project proposals must make a clear and compelling case for the proposed project’s potential to contribute to knowledge in an identified field of creative practice. It is also expected that all proposals identify relevant literature and related artistic precedents. Projects can be speculative or discursive in nature and may extend or contradict existing methodologies. All proposals received by Project Anywhere are reviewed by 4 artist academics of international standing. All applicants receive a comprehensive compilation of feedback for future consideration.
