2023 Documentary Fund Grant Application (Sundance Institute)
DEADLINE: 17 APRIL 2023

The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today a new partnership between the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund and the John Templeton Foundation in support of nonfiction storytelling. Through a new three-year partnership Sundance will increase the size of its granting pool by $500,000 per year, which enables the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund to double the size of its grants across the board, from development to post-production. Starting with the current Open Call for applications (deadline April 17), the nonprofit will award selected projects at the development stage grants of up to $40,000 and Production and Post-Production grants of up to $100,000.

A WONDERLAND OF INNOVATION

The SIGGRAPH Posters program is an interactive forum where students, researchers, artists, enthusiasts, and practitioners present their latest novel ideas and ongoing research. Posters authors discuss their work, receive feedback, inspire and find inspiration from others, and network with researchers and industry professionals.

Student authors are encouraged to submit to the Student Research Competition for the chance for their work to be highlighted, to receive a prize, and to progress to the ACM Student Research Competition Grand Finals!

Begehungen Festival: Exhibition and Residency
Deadline: 23 April 2023

Begehungen Festival are looking for artists of all genres and forms of expression who would like to address this annual theme via the open call. Participation is possible both in the form of a residency and with submitted works. When applying for a residency of up to four weeks, a coherent concept must be submitted that describes both the work being created and how it will be implemented.
The honorarium for a four-week residency for artists and groups is 2500 euros. Up to 700 euros for material costs are available per artist or group. Travel costs to and from the residency are reimbursed and accommodation is provided free of charge. A shorter residency period is possible and will be reimbursed on a pro rata basis.

Baltic Dance Platform: Baltic Performances and Pitches

Open call is for contemporary dance artists of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to participate in the third Baltic Dance Platform, which will take place Riga, Latvia on 9-11 February 2024. Three performances and five pitch presentations from each Baltic country will be selected to participate in the event.
Baltic Dance Platform and partners will cover travel costs and accommodation (for those traveling from outside the Riga capital area) for all selected participants. Selected participants will also receive payment for the presentation of the performances.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND TIPS
The call for applications to the artistic programme and the application form opens on 6 March 2023.
Deadline for applications is 14 May 2023 at 17.00 EEST (check your local time here: time.is).

Artist Fellowship At Cavendish Arts-Science

The annual Cavendish Arts Science Fellowship is delivered in partnership with Girton College.

Previous Cavendish Arts Science Fellows include experimental filmmaker Logan Dandridge who brought specific interests in memory, non-linear time and Black experience to his dialogues with physicists, and artist and composer Ain Bailey our 2022-23 Fellow, who is currently in residence in Cambridge. Ain brings her interest in multi-channel sound, architectural acoustics and the constellation of sounds that form individual and community identities, to her encounters with physicists.

IDFA is the leading festival for the art of documentary film and new media. Every November, the festival presents a trend-setting program of 250 selected titles in six competitions, several thematic sections, a physical exhibition, and a range of live performances. 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival

The 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival will take place from November 2nd to November 12th 2023, and has the pleasure to announce that film submissions are now open.
