Antikythera is now accepting applications Professionals coming from all design disciplines, architecture, computer science, economics, philosophy, history, science and technology studies, political science, digital media, filmmaking, and others are encouraged to apply.

Antikythera’s five-month speculative design-research Studio runs from February to June 2023. Project outcomes will take form as theory, cinema, software, models, prototypes, policies and more. Concepts ideated during the Studio may be further developed through a network of supporters after the five month program. The Studio is directed by designer and creative director Nicolay Boyadjiev.

The VR ART PRIZE awarded by Deutsche Kreditbank (DKB), in cooperation with the Contemporary Arts Alliance (CAA) Berlin, is the first art prize for virtual reality in the field of visual arts with an institutional exhibition in Germany.

The VR ART PRIZE focuses on the artistic potential of new technologies, as well as the exploration and critical analysis of their impact on the individual and society. The prize aims to contribute to the structural establishment of this emerging medium in visual art. The VR ART PRIZE 2023 is aimed at artists who use virtual reality and spatial installations to create visions for social change.

The Catapult Research Grant is the newest expansion of Catapult Film Fund’s on-going commitment to develop nonfiction films and filmmakers…With major support from XRM Media, the Catapult Research Grant is the newest expansion of Catapult Film Fund’s ongoing commitment to support nonfiction films and filmmakers. This program provides a $10,000 grant plus six months of mentorship and professional development to five filmmakers in the early conception and research phase of developing a new film idea.

Aide aux cinémas du monde (Post-Filming)

Aide aux cinémas du monde is the fund, managed by the CNC and the Institut français, dedicated to international co-productions.
It is granted to foreign feature-length film projects that are seeking support from French co-producers.
Pre-filming subsidies must be applied for before the start of any filming.
Post-filming subsidies must be applied for by the French production company and are only applicable to projects rejected at the pre-filming stage. (There is a ceiling of € 250,000 for pre-filming subsidy and of € 50,000 for post-filming subsidy.)

UTOPIAS LAHTI 23

Artists, researchers, collectives and anyone working with these topics in a visual way to question ideological divisions between human and non-human actors, build counter-narratives to seeing the world as a resource and advocate for the political, social and economic equality of all people.

The festival is open to proposals in different mediums, but is especially focused on lens-based and/or other medias (eg. photography, video, animation, photogrammetry, 3D, new media). Six artists/collectives proposals will be selected in December 2022 by the festival jury for exhibitions at the festival.

EUROPEAN MEDIA ART PLATFORM

European artists, or collectives can apply with a project proposal for a residency of two months within March to November 2023. The artists will be collaborating with an artist of their choice or an artist local to the host institution.
The residency includes an invitation to the kick-off conference and network meeting in Athens 8th – 9th of March 2023, a grant of €4,000 including subsistence costs, a grant of €2,000 for collaborating artist(s), production budget of €4,000, free accommodation, travel expenses up to €1,000, and free access to technical facilities and/or media labs of the host institution.

Recanati-Kaplan Prize

Villa Albertine, in partnership with the Institut du monde arabe and the Recanati-Kaplan Foundation, is launching a new program and prize to support artistic and intellectual exchange between the United States, France, and the Arab world. (A two-month residency in a US city shall be offered to the winner, along with a $15,000 grant).  The Recanati-Kaplan Prize will be awarded to one creator, cultural expert, or scholar in recognition of their achievements throughout their career, and in support of their proposed residency project in the United States. This project must be related to a major contemporary issue that affects both the United States and the Arab world.

Att at REGULATION and ELIGIBILITY: Project has to be a fiction feature film (TV films not accepted, feature documentaries accepted only for the Agadir PAS workshop).

  • A production company can apply only one project at a time for a workshop.
  • A production company can apply two times in a row with the same project if it meets the previous criteria.
