“Connect” program/ Connect and Connect South Africa

Arts at CERN and Pro Helvetia extend their partnership with the launch of “Connect”
This new programme will promote dialogue between the arts, science and technology for the next four years
“Connect” is a programme of residencies for artists who are keenly interested in a cross-disciplinary approach and strongly motivated by scientific thinking and fundamental science. The new programme offers two residency formats: a three-month residency at CERN for Swiss artists, which will be announced biennially; and a combined residency at CERN and another international location in collaboration with prestigious scientific and cultural organisations in Chile, South Africa, Brazil and India, which will happen annually.

“Call for applications : 2021 Odyssée artist-in-residency programme/

With the support of the French Ministry of culture, the ACCR has been coordinating the Odyssée artist-in-residency program. The program is aiming at artists, researchers and culture professionals from countries other than France wanting to develop projects within French Cultural Centers – Historic Monuments
The Odyssée artist-in-residency program allows residents whose projects have been selected by a ACCR (Centre Culturel de Rencontre), member of the French network, to receive 1200€ per month and the refunding of their travel fees (up to a determined level depending on the distance from their country to the CCR).
More than 700 artists from over 79 different countries have taken part in the program, developing projects in different areas such as music, architecture, arts and crafts, visual arts, dramatic writing, novel writing, scriptwriting, animated film-making, photography and journalism.

The Black Realities Creative Grant was created in 2020 as a response to the ongoing social injustice and violence against Black Lives. THE EVERYDAY PROJECTS GRANT

At the core of The Everyday Projects’ mission is a belief in support of photojournalists from diverse backgrounds as they develop their craft. In a new effort to help provide this vital support, The Everyday Projects will award two grants to photographers to work on a long-term project.
In addition to receiving $6,000 each, the two grantees will receive mentorship for the duration of their project from either Mallory Benedict of National Geographic or Jehan Jillani of The Guardian.

The Vilcek Foundation will award three Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise of $50,000 each to young, immigrant artistic directors, choreographers, and performers who demonstrate outstanding early achievement in dance.
The winners of the 2022 Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Dance will be announced in fall 2021. Prizewinners will be invited to attend the Vilcek Foundation’s annual awards ceremony in New York City in the spring of 2022. Travel expenses and accommodations will be covered by the foundation.

This call is searching for artwork production proposals that explore questions of care and technology. What is care? Does the concept of care change with the increasing use of new technologies? How does caring technologies affect agency and relationality – for both human and nonhuman? What is at stake for how we experience and understand care and compassion under new technological regimes?
Suggested themes are for example questions of care ethics, compassion, human – nonhuman relations, welfare-technologies, care robots, robotisation, caring futures, bio- and necropolitics and welfare governance.

GENERATIVE PROJECT’ RESIDENCY

Xi·Art Museum is located in Lucitopia Town, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, China. A wall-less open-air art museum, it is planned along a 7km stream in the valleys of Zixi Qingliang Mountain. With a tranquil and pleasant environment, it resembles another time and another world. Lying at the foot of the Wuyi Mountains on their northern side, it is about two hours’ drive from the urban centre of Fuzhou.
The Xi·Art Museum is currently in its infancy. Among its initial activities are the Generative Project, which focuses on open, growing, and participatory art practices and field research processes. Through long-term exchanges and cooperation with domestic and international artists, the Generative Project roots artistic creations in specific natural fields and contexts, in which the creative works will be permanently preserved and displayed.
Applications are now sought from artists for the 2020-21 Generative Project, which takes the theme ‘Fantasy Land’.

Project Anywhere’s evaluation criteria stress that all project proposals must make a clear and compelling case for the proposed project’s potential to contribute to knowledge in an identified field of creative practice. It is also expected that all proposals identify relevant literature and related artistic precedents. Projects can be speculative or discursive in nature and may extend or contradict existing methodologies. All proposals received by Project Anywhere are reviewed by 4 artist academics of international standing. All applicants receive a comprehensive compilation of feedback for future consideration.
