The Ideas Explorer: AI FILMS

by paradoxig

THE IDEAS EXPLORER. We wanted to start exploring ideas - new ideas, crazy ideas, some ideas that soon will matter a lot, or will not matter at all. But, ideas are what they drive us, and make us dream. Of course, we understand that bringing ideas to life is a whole different ballgame. Research, implementation, and all that jazz – it's like solving a puzzle on a rollercoaster!
But hey, that's a challenge for another day. Right now, let's focus on our primary goal: exploring ideas!
!Warning: Side effects of being an Idea Explorer may include: sleepless nights, sudden bursts of inspiration, and an uncontrollable urge to share ideas with everyone you meet. But hey, that's all part of the adventure!

In the age of AI, we stumbled across one intriguing idea: an AI Film platform. We found a landing page – which could hide sometimes more, who knows? – but, our main role wanted to find out why this idea?

Definitely, lately ‘AI and Films’ was a hot topic. From creators that try to explore the potential of AI either for enhancing the productivity -line for making movies, others that try to explore how AI can generating new forms of storytelling, till artists that consider that AI will ruin the movies business. The spectrum of positions in the field is quite diverse. And Here it is a platform that promises to be the next Netflix for AI Films.  Which would be interesting, right?

The Founder behind the AI Films is Cesar Romero Pose, and this is how is became interested in AI:

“Breaking my skull opened my mind. Literally, I broke my skull skating. This made me loose vision, talking in different languages (languages that I already knew, German, English, Spanish… ) but without realising it, no filter when I was talking, saying out loud what just came into my mind. I was very complicated at this time. Friends, family… all were telling me I wasn’t anymore me. This made me think, what is me? Why have I changed? If my brain changes, Do I not exist anymore? Am I somebody different? Luckily with time I recover, I think I even got an update, I became Cesar 2.0. Like when a TV is not working you hit it. I felt this was what happened to me. With this fascination about how brain works I became obsessed with AI.” told us Cesar Romero Pose.

TechvangArt asked Cesar Romero Pose about motivations behind the AI Films, his positions related to AI and Films, but also about… non-AI things that he likes.

TVA: What’s your vision about the power of AI technologies to transform the filmmaking industry in the future, and how does your lunch platform contribute to this transformation?
Cesar Romero Pose: We are a specie very influenced in the power of storytelling and with it its archetypes. Being extremely influenced by status, intrinsically a primitive trigger of secure social protection, we are very attached to imitate the archetypes well perceived in the story.
Secretly we believe we will be protected. With this basic behaviour, if you control the power of storytelling you control the humans action. You can perfectly direct patterns.
With AI, things changes and is that indie filmmakers and new creators with low budget can afford to show new perspectives. This will open new perspectives and a vast variety of interpretations.
The decentralisation of storytelling will let freely find a more accurate tribe to be part.

TVA: Different creatives have different definitions related to AI films. You are launching a platform for AI films, how do you define AI Films?
Cesar Romero Pose: We don’t marry any AI tool, we marry the power of creativity and what AI brings to the table to explore. As all new tech an avant-garde movement follows, but to grow as a movement (or group of movements) it has to be expressed freely and without limitations.

TVA: Out of curiosity, how did the idea of the AI Films platform come about? We are curious about the origins of your concept for AI Films platform
Cesar Romero Pose: The idea came from an article I wrote (César Romero) for an AI newsletter about the possibility of making movies with AI. This was before the ChatGPT explosion. From the big feedback following tweets and DMs it became just natural to create it.

TVA: You are just launching a platform – how do you envision it? Will it be a curated one or not?
Cesar Romero Pose: It will be curated on the simple principle that there has to be AI involved (in the creation process). From there the audience will decide.

TVA: Who are the knowledgeable experts from the creative and tech industries with whom you collaborate?
Cesar Romero Pose: I collaborate with a lot of events and fest organisers in the AI creations, work also with other creators, film directors, art and tech university,…

TVA: Is it premature to discuss investors and business models at this stage? How do you see the business model?
Cesar Romero Pose: Investors have approached already. One of it main goals (https://aifilms.ai) is to be a profitable platform for what it is slowly becoming a new type of creator/director. The way to sustain the platform is by the streaming service.

TVA: The complex issues surrounding AI, copyrights, and the training data utilized by AI have generated considerable debates among artists and creatives.
What is your position on this matter?
Cesar Romero Pose: If we follow this premise, any artist by creating infringes far more in copyright as in the numbers of dataset it was trained his/her “model” than any generative AI.

TVA: An OPEN CALL for AI CREATORS has been issued by your platform. Could you provide more details regarding this opportunity?

Cesar Romero Pose: From the first interest after the article predicting the irruption of AI into the film industry, the door was let open to any neo-creator that wanted and still wants to be part.
The idea is to benefit everyone by creating an easy to use platform that integrates a payment system, streaming platform and by being all together attract viewers to become loyal as subscribers by providing regular new content.

If an AI were to analyse the platform you are launching, what problems would it find and what improvements would it make?
Cesar Romero Pose: I created, trained and regular inform an AI business agent I have locally on my computer that helps me in all related to AI FILMS.
What it tells me I prefer to keep in secret.
