”Duplicated” introduces the inaugural exhibition of Canadian artist Antoine Lortie at Floating Point Gallery.
The exhibition invites visitors to step inside two exhibitions: one in web3, in Cryptovoxel, and the second one in the virtual reality application Art Gate VR.
In these two virtual environments, Antoine Lortie presents experimental works across three series of NFTs and digital wearables called “FuturPunk”, “Administrator” and “Conspirator”.
Duplicated reveals the unprecedent gaps that emerge in the digital systems that humans build, and in the environments that surround them.
Using Blender and MagicaVoxel, to create intriguing and critical objects, Antoine Lortie explores the tensions between digital technologies’ capacity to destroy and preserve the current state of the art world.
Floating Point Gallery and Antoine Lortie rethink the ways in which we use digital art. Challenging our perceptions and inventing new possibilities. New stories are waiting to be told to redefine the concept of art.
The NFTs and digital wearables will be available on OpenSea and Cryptovoxel marketplaces, till August 31st, 2022.

About Antoine Lortie
Antoine Lortie is one of the most provocative living artists – always experimenting and expanding artistic boundaries. Lortie’s interest lies in the connections between the system we inhabit – political, cultural and social.
Working with photography, video, sculpture, painting, mass media, and virtual technologies, he champions hybridization through changing identities, and examines the polemics that arise in the field of art, politics, sociology, and religion. Antoine has dedicated his career to rebirth and selfinvention, Princess Institunia, his digital twin.
Born. 1989, Québec, Antoine Lortie received his BFA at Laval University in 2013 and a MFA in painting with honors at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in 2016. He currently lives and works in Québec, Montréal and Toronto.
His work is part of several private collections in France, in England, Belgium and Canada. Recent museum acquisition includes Néréide (Ornement), 2019 at the collection MNBAQ
