XR Safety Grant/ $2,500

The XR Safety Grant is created to encourage AR and VR artists and stakeholders to create media projects that inspire and promote safety awareness around privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, our physical beings, our emotional and psychological state as we universally adopt these advanced technologies.
The grant primarily focuses on Child Safety, Medical XR, Diversity and Inclusion, Ethics, Accessibility, Trust, Privacy, and all other aspects of Safety in XR. All formats, genres, and categories of safety will be considered including: video art, visual art, films, games, apps, architecture, storytelling, VR/AR projects and more.

Human-Machine-Fellowship/ Grant
Akademie der Künste, Berlin, in partnership with VISIT
Deadline: April 1, 2021

Artists from all disciplines may apply online for the second round of applications starting on 1 February 2021. The fellowship is endowed with 20,000 euros.
The thematic fellowship will be advertised three times until the end of 2022. Each fellowship is endowed with EUR 20,000 respectively and can be used for fees, travel cost, production costs and documentation. It must be possible to show the project in the context of an exhibition/presentation. Fellows shall also be given the opportunity to stay at one of the Akademie der Künste’s studios in Berlin’s Hansaviertel district as a guest.

Creatives for Our Future
Swarovski Foundation Institute
Deadlines: 9th April 2021 (11.59PM GMT)

Swarovski Foundation Institute: Creatives for Our Future is a new global grant programe designed with the advice of the United Nations Office for Partnerships to identify and accelerate the next generation of creative leaders in sustainability.
The programme is open to all creatives worldwide aged 18 to 25 (at the time of application) from across disciplines including fashion, design, art, architecture and engineering – with no limit to creative medium.
9 selected grantees will receive financial support (15,000 USD) to further their practice and design new pathways for a better world. The funding is paired with an educational programme in collaboration with top international institutions, tailored mentorship and industry networking connections with guidance from the Swarovski Foundation.
The successful cohort of creatives will be announced on 21 April 2021.

The Nomadic Island project

The Nomadic Island project is an artist residency project that goes beyond a usual creative residency since it merges with the experience of living in an international community that takes place at the same time. It is an experimentation platform involving an heterogeneous group of artists on one side, and an equally heterogeneous group of local residents on the other side. During a lapse of time of three weeks, the international community-based settlement is intended to create a space to let synergies arise around the theme of alternative ways of living and working.

ACP-EU Culture Program:
Support for the Cultural and Creative Sectors in West Africa – AWA (Art in West Africa)
Deadline: 17 April 2021

The ACP-EU Culture Program: Support for the Cultural and Creative Sectors in West Africa – AWA (Art in West Africa) is one of the six regional projects selected under the ACP-EU Program Culture, a joint initiative of the European Union and the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, through the establishment of the new decentralised regional mechanism intended to strengthen the competitiveness of cultural and creative industries in ACP countries.
The program will be implemented over a 40 month period (December 2020 – April 2024) by the consortium of Institut français de Paris and Centre Culturel Kôrè de Ségou.
As part of the implementation of this project, a first call dedicated to support for the structuring of operators of the cultural and creative sector in West Africa has been launched. The maximum amount of the grant awarded under this call is 150,000 euros.
Eligible country countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo).

Arts Training Abroad Grants

The Arts Training Abroad grants annually support academic training, theoretical research, or technical training and artistic improvement in the visual arts, performing arts, music, and film. Applications are considered four times a year, during the last week of the months of January, April, July and October.
Grant conditions:
Period of 3 to 12 months, subject to renewal;
Monthly amount of 1.500 euros for Euro Zone countries, defined on a case by case basis for other destinations;
1,000 euros for installation expenses, participation in congresses and seminars;
500 for travel in European countries or defined case by case for other destinations;
5,000 for tuition fees, paid upon presentation of proof;

OPEN CALL PRINCE CLAUS MENTORSHIP AWARDS
Prince Claus Mentorship Award for participation in the (ADPP)

The Arab Fund for Art and Culture and the Prince Claus Fund, in partnership with the Magnum Foundation launched the Arab Documentary Photography Program (ADPP) in 2014. The ADPP is a program jointly funded by AFAC and Prince Claus Fund (in the framework of the Fund’s Mentorship Awards), targeting creative documentary photographers in the Arab region.
We invite all interested and eligible photographers to apply to this programe. Please consult the AFAC website before applying.

Prince Claus Seed Awards

The Prince Claus Fund will annually recognize 100 emerging artists and cultural practitioners within the first five years of their careers. With the Prince Claus Seed Awards they aim to contribute to flourishing arts scenes globally, where emerging artists can develop their practice on their own terms.

British Council
Unlimited Micro Awards for Disabled Artists (Online / Remote)
Deadlines: 18 May 2021

British Council and Unlimited are partnering to support pairings of disabled artists and collectives in the UK with those in selected countries to develop creative connections through small shared online work collaborations. The aim is to ensure that funds continue to flow to artists and artistic global ambition remains high during this time of global pandemic.
Each application must be led by a UK disabled artist or company/collective working with a UK disabled artist and applications can be for up to £2500. This includes up to £1000 for each artist or collective, and up to £500 for administration, translation, and equipment. Access funding is available separately – both to support access to applications and/or access to support the project.
Applications are available in alternative formats, and can be made in alternative formats, including video. Access support is available for those making applications – please see the full brief for further information.
